EveryTask

For documents that keep moving

Document version history that keeps every change clear

Save the next draft without overwriting the last one. EveryTask keeps document history with the client project, so the team can understand what changed and return to an earlier version when needed.

The free editor works without an account. Version history begins when a document is saved to a workspace.

What it changes

Stop naming files “final” and hoping it sticks.

Document history matters when a file has more than one meaningful state. A proposal changes after a client question. A report is corrected before delivery. A contract is revised before signing. Replacing the earlier PDF loses the context needed to explain the change, while saving files as final-v2 and final-v3 makes the team guess which one is authoritative.

EveryTask treats a save as a version. The later document becomes the current one, but the prior version remains part of the record. This makes it possible to review the path to a decision without turning a client project into an archive of manually named duplicate files.

The capability

More than one action on a file

01

A new version on every save

The later document becomes current without destroying the file that came before it.

02

A visible sequence

See the versions attached to the document rather than searching a download folder for a plausible filename.

03

Restore with confidence

Return to an earlier version when needed without pretending later work never existed.

04

Context beside the file

Review, activity and signing information stay with the document record as it changes.

05

A clearer handover

A colleague can see the current document and the route it took, instead of asking which attachment won.

06

A deliberate source of truth

The project identifies the current version while retaining the earlier evidence behind it.

Useful when

For changes that need to stay explainable.

A client changes the commercial scope

Keep the original proposal and the revision, so the final agreement can be understood against the change the client requested.

A report is corrected before delivery

Save the corrected report as a later version rather than silently replacing the draft that internal reviewers had discussed.

A team member inherits the work

A version trail gives the next owner a useful starting point: what is current, what changed and where the decision came from.

How it works

Start with the document. Keep the context.

  1. 01

Create or upload the document in the appropriate client project.

  2. 02

Edit and save when the next draft is ready to become a real version.

  3. 03

Use the version history to check, restore or explain the document later.

Questions, answered

Using this capability with confidence.

Does saving a new version overwrite the old one?

No. A later save becomes the current version while the earlier version remains part of the document history.

Can I restore an earlier version?

Yes. You can return to an earlier version when needed while retaining the surrounding version record.

Why is version history better than duplicate files?

The document keeps an explicit sequence of versions, so the current file and its earlier drafts are connected rather than differentiated only by filenames.

Does version history include client review context?

The workspace keeps document activity and related workflow context with the record, helping the team understand why a later version was created.

When the work needs to stay

Put the document in a workspace.

A client project keeps versions beside the brief, feedback, signature activity and related PDFs that explain why the document exists.
