What it changes
Make the PDF explain itself more clearly.
Editing and annotation solve different problems, but they belong in the same document workspace. Editing changes the file: correcting text, adding a missing label, placing an image or removing information. Annotation adds useful context around the file: a highlight, a note, a callout or a mark that tells the next person what needs attention.
The distinction matters most when a PDF is already circulating. A highlighted clause can start a review conversation; a real redaction can remove confidential content from the document itself. Keeping both actions close to the page helps the team choose whether it is making a suggestion, preparing a revision, or producing a finished file.

Comments and notes
Add a sticky note anywhere on a page. In a workspace these become threads your team can resolve.
Real redaction
Removes the text from the file rather than covering it. It cannot be recovered with copy and paste or a text extractor.
Whiteout
Covers content with a white rectangle. Useful for tidying a layout, but it hides rather than removes: use redaction for anything confidential.

Drop in a logo or a screenshot, draw freehand, add boxes, lines and arrows.

Can I edit text in an existing PDF?
Yes. The editor lets you add and replace text, then download the resulting PDF or save it to a workspace project.
What is the difference between whiteout and redaction?
Whiteout covers something visually. Redaction removes the selected text from the file, which is the appropriate choice for information that must not be recoverable.
Are comments part of the document workflow?
Yes. Comments and notes help keep review discussion close to the file; in a workspace, those discussions can remain associated with the document and its versions.
Can I keep the original after making changes?
When a document is saved in a workspace, each save creates a version, so the earlier document remains available if the team needs to return to it.
